“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” -Ecclesiastes 12:13
We as Christians should remember this and hold it dear to our hearts. We should always fear God, love Him, praise Him, do all we can for Him, and remember what he wants from us: Total submission. Often times we get bored doing the same thing everyday. We get into this routine Christian life: Devotions in the morning, prayer before meals, youth services on Wednesdays, church services on Sundays, and the occasional extra visitation. I catch myself looking at my watch on Sunday morning, waiting for the moment my pastor says, “Church is dismissed, have a blessed day.” I should look forward to church early in the morning. A morning dedicated to praising God and spending time in His Word should be seen as a blessing. So what I’m saying is this: Be happy when you praise God. He did SO much for you, the least you could do is enjoy doing little things for Him.
“Boredom is a result of a pre-occupation with the meaningless, not an occupation of the meaningful.”
I hope this devotion helped you in some way. Be blessed!

Psalm 14 - This passage is not a happy one. It seems as if there is no hope for the world we live in. God can’t find righteous people anymore. Christians are backsliding and acting like the world. They no longer act as a light in darkness.
-We as Christians should seek to be different and strive to be godly people. We should act Christ-like so when people see us they’ll think, “I wonder what makes them different.” People will admire you for who you are and the stand you take. I often struggle myself with doing the right thing. Sometimes I want to give up and drop everything I stand for. It’s hard now a days to dress right, listen to the right music, act a certain way. Ephesians 5:7-10 says this: 7 Therefore do not become partners with them; 8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
We were once lost, part of the world. When Jesus saved us, we were given new life. And with that new life comes a new lifestyle. We should be the best people we can be, honoring God in everything we do. After all, Christian does mean follower of Christ. We should do everything we can to be more like Him.
I hope this post helped you or encouraged you in some way. Reading this passage today definitely got me thinking of areas in my life I need to work on. I pray that God uses you and I as a light to guide other people to Him. God bless!
